i use mobile broadband because i dont have a phone line but i want to know if you need a phone line to connect a wireless router to the xbox 360 because with mobile broadband my NAT is at moderate and it can only be changed while using a router.

I don't think you need a phone line might be ethernet cable your referring to for a wired connection if you got a wireless router.Your system should be able to pick it up depending on the router.I use a Sprint Novatel U727 mobile broadband card,and a Cradlepoint MBR1000 EVDO router and it works for my PS3 and XBox 360.I would say try to mess with the configuration settings for your router to see if you can open it up though.I don't think I can help you out with the configuration settings,because I'm not even sure what router you have but each one has a different configuration scheme.

How is the ping on mobile broadband? Never heard anyone use that to play online.

not good, thats why i want the router to see if its any better.

does anyone know for sure if a router will work without a phone line because i dont want to go wasting money on it.

the stats are: packets sent = 4, recieved = 0, lost= 4

I'm not sure BurningAs I only use it to get demos and stuff like that.I'm not real big on online gaming,because I only have a 512kb connection.If I had DSL or cable with a 4MB connection or something like that I probably wouldn't mind playing online bro.The area I live in doesn't offer real good high speed internet services.
