I have a winfast deluxe pvr on a winxp machine with raid array and a xp2100 processor with 1 Gig of crucial pc2700 ram.

My family wants me to put our old home movies (no audio) from VHS to DVD. I have a DVD burner and have burned many dvd's.

I captured the video using a panasonic 4 head VCR in RAW mode 720x480. After 1 Hour of capturing, I ended up with a 90 gig file. The size to me is not an issue since I have plenty of space. Whgat worries me is the quality.
I read the .avi file into premiere pro and added soem simplae audio to it and made a 5 minute snippit of 300 Meg size, 720x480 Dual pass encoding 7kbit rate. When I play it on my TV, the video seems to jump a bit. I am thinking dropped frames, but when I do a check on the file in premiere it says only 13 dropped frames out of 130,000 frames. So it shouldnt be a problem.

Can you recommend a program/process I can figure out if my AVi capture is ok? How much better is th 10 bit card? A lot? Or just some.
