Hi,

Started having problems with my wiikey, out of 20 games only 2 will load properly (Mamas cook off + tiger woods) both pretty crap games.

I've tried the recovery disk then update then config but still hasn't worked.

When I use config (1.3 or 1.2) I set to region free then reset. When I reload and check using the config again the region free setting is back to 'off', i've never been into config and seen the setting to 'on'.

Do I need to use a different config?

My Wii is pal 2.2e, updated thh wiikey to 1.9, and used recovery 1.9g, all config/update disks work, think the recovery disk works but dunno how you can check this...

Been trying to fix it for ages through the information in this forum but running out of ideas...

anyone help?

cheers!

Is your Wii really 2.2E or was that a typo? If it is 2.2E then an update is definitely in order for the Wii itself (and undoubtedly the WiiKey too - to the current version as per the WiiKey firmware thread in this forum)

yes it's 2.2e, I can't update it as wii isn't connected to the internet (I only have cable connection, not wireless) unless theres another way to update the wii?

If there is could you link me to it?

The Wii should be updated to latest firmware.

As well when you use the config disc and set the region override to ON it will be ON. When you run the config disc by default it will show that it is disabled which is normal. So set it to ON and it will be on.

You should also update to latest Wiikey firmware.

If the games still do not work then try different blank media. It could be a media compatibility issue.

If some games are Imports (USA/JAP) make sure they are region compatible with PAL systems by using this guide HERE.

You can buy a Wii LAN adapter to connect via Cable which you can find HERE.

Ok, cool i'll get one of those.

The games were all working fine at one point, I guess something happened...

I'll get back to you if this solves the issues.

Cheers!

Mario Kart disc will take your PAL Wii to 3.1E at least (maybe 3.2E) provided it's a PAL disc of course... if it's an NTSC disc then it'll brick your PAL Wii.
