Date on UPC is 2006-1-10, bought it from my buddy, pretty sure its the first run (can anyone confirm this) that is susceptible to the dreaded RROD, should I go ahead and expediate the inevitable? If so, can anyone link to a good method for achieving this goal? Sorry if this has been covered, don't really have the time tonight to search through pages and pages... Also, it is still covered by warranty, correct? And should I just mod this one, as I plan on taking apart the replacement and flashing the drive (would a replacement unit be harder to flash?)

three is not really a way to speed it up without damaging it. really the only thing you can do is play the shit out of it. you could heat it up but that is risky. better off just to leave it alone.
