My WiiKey should be arriving sometime this week, and I just want a few questions answered that i'm curious about.

I have an NTSC Wii

Is it completely safe to update when a NTSC game asks me to update?

Can I burn two Wii games on a dual-layer disk similar to how you can burn multiple Gamecube games on one regular DVD?

Can I put as many gamecube games as possible on a dual-layer and play without any hitches? So say I have around seven 1gb Gamecube games, can I burn those all on a dual layer game and select the game i want to play easily?

Thanks for all the help thus far, especially NDARK--This site is great, thank you everyone for the help to get a newbie onto the Wii Modding Scene :).

A simple search answers your first question. Same-region updates are always safe. Just make sure that its the right region if you're downloading the games.

No. At least not until we get a wii version of GCOS.

I believe that GCOS supports up to 9 gamecube games per disk, I've never tested that though. But when you boot the disk it will give you a list of the games on the disk and let you select the one you want.

7 games at 1GB each = 7GB.

A single layer DVD disc holds only 4.7 GB.

So no you could not get 7 1GB games on a single layer disc.

A GC disc normal size is 1.35 which includes the actual game size and padded garbage to make it 1.35GB official size. You can use a program that will delete the padded garbage from the GC ISO leaving just the game info that can then be used for a Mutli-game GC disc.

Doing this will allow you to put more then 3 games on a single layer disc. As long as you shrink (delete the padded garbage) from the game ISO first.

The program i use to do this is called MultiGame_ISO_Creator_v3.2.4F which you can get HERE. This allows you to do both shrink and create a multi-game GC disc. Just keep in mind a single layer disc can only hold 4.7GB of info so do not go over that size limit when creating the Multi_disc GC ISO.

If you want even more games on the Multi-game disc this should work for Dual Layer Media (Never tried it myself) so you can get up to 9.4GB of games on it.
