Video editing advice, what software?

So i was watching The dudesons and me and my mates are making videos and i really like the way the dudesons videos look. When they are introducing someone and it freezs and the name pops up. (if you don't know what i mean youtube the dudesons)

Does anyone know how to do this, or just what a good program to use is? If i can find out what a good program to use is i can find out more on my own.
