I dont know if anyone can help me with this, but when I try to put DVDs fullscreen on my new monitor (Hitachi CML174SXW B) which is a 17" TFT with a native resolution of 1280x1024 the image looks like this:

this occurs using power DVD, Interactual, and (shudder) Windows media player. If anyone has any ideas of causes/fixes, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Z

I have the exact same problem with the same monitor (only mine is gray...)

If you've had any luck in sorting out this problem please let me know!

Hiya,

Are you using the DVI or Analogue?

Have you got the menu setting for Phase set correctly?

Those look like interleaving artifacts to me.

have Fun...

I'm using the DVI input on the monitor, and i cant get access to the option for Phase on the menu, I will try on an analogue connection and see if:
a)I can alter the phase
b)it makes any difference

Thanks for the feedback.

OK, checked it, the problem disappeard if i use the analog input on the monitor, so i suppose that I can use that , but I would still like to know what could cause the problem when I use the digital input, which (AFAIK) is supposed to be better at these things.

Try the advanced settings in your nVidia control panel.

Look for something that may allow you to have control over interlacing or phase while using the DVI.

Thankyou, it appeared under (from the windows desktop):
Properties>Settings>Advanced>Geforce TI4200

there was a side menu, Flat Panel Display.

Once I checked Display Adapter Scaling, the problem disappeared.

Now i feel stupid for not checking there, damn.
