What type of set top player and DVD-R media do you use?

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread so everyone can list the type of set top player and compatible DVD-R media they use. I think this information would be helpful for all members.

I use the Mintek portable and Mintek DVD-1600. Both are sold by Best Buy. This player has played all discs I have made with PRINCO DVD-r and DVD-RW white top. There were some issues with the CD-Recordable discs. I am next going to try the ALLMEDIA house brand DVD-R and will report results. Contrary to what some have reported here, The PRINCO's have been solid.

I have both a Philips Q50 and a LG 4230N standalone players. I burn my DVDs using a Pioneer A04s and Recordnow DX software using the cheapest noname media I can find here in Sao Paulo. Both players play perfectly my DVDs.
DVDs I burned using Nero don't work in them.

Thank you all for responding. Let's keep it going. If you have not listed the type of stand alone player that you use and the type of DVD-R media that is compatible with your player, please do so.

I was searching the web and I found a bunch of web pages that have lists of stand alone players that will play DVD-R's. I thought that this information might be helpful for some of us. I have listed the links below:

I have an RCA 6001P standalone DVD player.

So far, I"m quite certain that the Verbatim DVD-R media I purchased at Best Buy does NOT work. The discs load allright, but it has a tendency to display horrible artifacts or de-sync during high bandwidth sections of playback.

I've heard that Univeral media has one of the highest compatibilty rates, so I just placed an order. We'll see what happens...

For cheaper price of DVD-R Media,
Ritek and Optodisc are 2 good media I've tried.
Work flawlessly on my DMR-E30.

Well... tried the Universal media. Looks like I had better results with the Verbatim. I'm discovering that each brand of DVD-R seems to have a different max bitrate for seemless playback - at least on my player.

The Verbatim media seems to work at 6 mbits/sec. The Universal discs don't work very well above 4 mbits/sec.
