I have backed up a couple movies from my collection. But all of them have the same problem, they will play in my home dvd player for about 1 hour and a half(give or take a few Min). After that they skip, freeze, or garble the picture and audio so bad it not worth watching anymore. Is there a way to make a copy without all the nonsense. I have tried 3 different type of dvd media(Fuji, Memorex,& TDK). I have a AMD Athlon 2200+, 512 ram, and two hard drives(100gig, 120 gig), dvd-rom, Lite-on 8x dvdrw. I have used dvd clone, dvd shrink3.1, dvd fab, dvd decrypter, smart ripper, Nero 6, and instant copy.

You're not using any labels are you, I had exactly similar problems with labeled DVDs.

If this is not the case, try burning at lower speed (if possible) and/or try media like Verbatim or Ritek G04:s, which have been known to work very good.

Hope you get your problem fixed.

Check also that you have the latest firmware on your burner.

Nope not using labels. Going to try a different manufacture. Other forums on this site recommend me using Sony DMR47 with my model of dvd player. Will keep you posted. THX

You might try knocking down the target file size in Shrink and see if that helps. Many players have trouble reading the very outside edges of a disc.
