Hello all! I am new here and was hoping someone could help me or give advice.
I recently got a modded PSP from craigslist for $90. It seemed awesome at first.
I got home and figured out SNES emulators and such. I linked it up with my PS3 and played games wirelessly and all was good.
Well today I stopped by Game Stop and picked up FFVII Crisis Core.
I popped it in, and nothing happened. The system made some weird noises and the loader in bottom right never stops spinning. So obviously I called the guy I bought it from, he told me to change some settings. It still didn't work and now he doesn't answer his phone :(

My software is: 3.90 M33-2

I looked around the forum before posting, for other people had similar problems, but had no success in getting it working.

At this point I am guessing the laser is busted or something, but I don't feel safe fixing it myself (not to mention dont wanna pay for it). It's all really frustrating and I need some solution. Whether it's someone buying it from me for a fair price so I don't end up broke, or trading it for a working one and paying a little extra.

Where I am at: $90 for system, $10 for AC charger, $10 for Memory stick. Total of $110, buying a new UMD is like $40. so...I could have bought a new PSP all together in the first place. Such is life.

I am hoping someone has an idea or a fair offer.
THANKS!

if the umd won't read, then it's either the umd drive is busted, or it's been flashed with the wrong NAND.

if it's the second one, there's nothing you can do.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

UMD drive is busted. Try cleaning the lens first, with a soft cloth, and if that doesn't work, there's always piracy ;)

If your NAND was busted, the drive wouldn't do anything, so it's the drive that's the problem.
