I read an article recently talking about a new type of drive coming back from MS repair that can't be flashed yet.I'm curious about this drive does anyone have one of these yet.Here are some pics of the drive http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll88/sl4y3r666/ if anyone is interested.The drive is listed as a Lite-on Philips DG 16D2S and can't be flashed yet from my understanding.Its looks pretty bad though worse than a Hitachi 79 drive from the looks of it.

Yup I got one those I tryed to mod it like a benq and didnt work I couldnt understand why untill i found out it was a light on lol

Yeah man I'm glad you didn't either,but now Dindi304 has one of these which I feel sorry for bro.I know its probably possible to read the rom contained on the drive,but it wouldn't do us any good as its a completely different layout.It needs to be looked at by c4eva,infectus or those familiar with the firmware hack.It looks like it will need some type of modding method like the 79 passkey,possibly a modchip of some sort or hooked up to a programmer with an adapter that fits these type of chips.It might change the way we mod XBox 360 systems if MS keeps changing the drive layouts.I heard rumor about a linux development project being worked on that is similar to the way the original xbox hacks function,but it is very beta and still a work in progress.Its just rumor from my point of view,but I wanted to add that in to cheer up Dindi a little bit even if it is rumor.The next step to hacking a XBox 360 might be cracking it open to a bunch of possibilities.
