Starview 3 The Box Super - Flash Update fail...

I hope someone can help me PLZ.
I bought a genuine starview 3 box a week ago (25x7 vents). Hav managed to connect it to my pc through the com port. I have managed to change the API version of the software on the box to various ones such as GTRom_Super705e and 601e, i have checked this in system info and it has worked fine. BUT when i come to use GTRomV4.0 and run the software and specify the various api files and click on download, i get a pop up window showing zero progress, i have left it for 10, 20 and 30 mins and nothing happens.
Eventually when i click on download button and turn the power ON to the box i get a pop up window Quote:
Flash Update Fail..
Otherwise i get no message when the power is on to the box and the download button has been pressed.
The system info is API ver:7.05e, Boot ver:8.0 10.Apr.2008.
The nul cable and the port setting must be ok if i can change the API version of the software.
Any help greatly appreciated..

not quite understanding what you are getting at if you have a 7.05 on at min wheres the fire???
besides the software and loader for the box super is all in one no seperate loader and software like the sv 1 and 2

Managed to get it to work, i was a bit slow on understanding the instructions, got confused with the all in one files and loader....

Because none of the solutions to this problem seem to work, it seems people had various solutions to the problem such as making sure the correct com port was selected, using a null modem cable and not a RS323 cable or deselecting FIFO check box in properties for the COM port. BUT not of this stuff worked for me...

Maybe because in your first post you state you are using Gtrom V4.00. All firmwares for the SV3 are a unified firmware/loader so no need for Gtromloader, as already stated.
BTW moggser is responding to the other poster.

hi all, new to this. just a quick question if anyone could help me it would be relly appreciated. I got the box super and flashed it as instructions. it works alright but i had to manually put the code in nagravision once it finished scan. it just stayed on data been updated 0%. does that mean the autoroll not working.so if the codes get changed will i have to key code in everytime or is there something else i can do to get it working. the system info says API 7.09e_E BOOT VER 8.0

yeah the emu key was on.i have all the channels and its working. was just inquiring whether it will be alright or did a put wrong firmware on.my parents will be using the box and dont want to have to go over there everytime they change the codes. i see on some of the threads people talking bout using 6.0. cheers for reply

you wont have to manually enter keys.
do this & you`ll be ok
menu > 1570
set default key, exit to s*y sports & let it update
just make sure the emu is on.

actually missing the majority of channels and it wont update at all so im kind of thinking i need to put different firmware on.any ideas.

when did you get the box???
do the fta channels work?
dop you just get the no signal message?

actually took the box and tried it in my parents house and it updated no problem. but it will only work in my house if i manually put the code in through nagravision. anyone know the story with that.the thing is i already have starview 2 the box in my house and it updates fine.no problems with it so why wont the super box update in my house but will in my parents. its a bit of a weird one. anyone have any ideas. located in citywest dublin. parents in rathfarnham dublin.

sometimes you need to do the default key a couple of times,try it till you see the 0% moving up sometimes it can go as far as 1200% even further.

hi and tanks 4 your help again have pvr got it going tanks 2 yous after days now have starview 3 super few days now ye now i follew all instructions u gave me on download n firmware ye im try n 2 flash gtrom709 beta ye all wires connections in followed all instructions ye which loader do i use 2 flash 709 beta is it the 601 0r the 705 loader and ive tryed all and still cant flash its piss n me of i do need 709 beta dont i but which loader do i use 2 flash it please reply

Its an all in one firmware loader (ufl) so just press download on the loader.

You dont use any loader as i said its an all in one firmware and loader,just download the 709 open it and press download.

hi yes i see the all in 1 firmfolder yes and i downloaded 709 2 my computer tats not the problem i have i cant flash it keeps cum n upflash failed have all leads correct and in follew all instrustions still wont flash sorry 4 reck n your head but i flashed my pvr ok tanks 2 you s just 1 ting can i do a trassfer of software from i super box 2 another with out a computer my friend has 1 set up im in dublin by the way ill send u a box of roses if u can help me flash it ok tanks again

hi
I'm having a problem with my starview 3 box
it is showing no signal on all channels
i tried re-programming it and press 1570
everything seems to be as it should be
when i tried re-programming it nothing is been tuned in
can anyone help ?

hi got a starview box super 2day n i tried 2 flash it using the GTrom v7.09 loader but i keep getting a msg saying flash update failed. jus wondering if any1 has any idea wt mite b wrong. any help much appreciated.
