cant get mp4 video files to psp

i have a psp 1001 system with 3.71 firmware. i downloaded pspvideo9 and tried to copy a video already in mp4 format to the psp. the video takes up space and seems to be on the system but when i try to access it on the psp it still says "no videos"

please respond if you know what i am doing wrong.

yes, i put the video into the pspvideo9 and copied it to the psp and it put it in the MP_ROOT/100MNV01 folder, but it still wouldnt work

have you tryed the video folder on the root of te psp?

yes, that didnt work either. the video takes up space on the memory card but i cant watch it on the system
