k my psp turns on with 3.90 m33-3. But when i turn it on it asks to do the whole configuration each time. So i think it has something to do with flash 1. But after i do the configuration quickly enough it freezes with the green power light on and the WLAN light on. Anybody know what to do?

Your CMOS battery must be dead/dislodged. Just always leave the PSP in sleep mode, and you'll be fine.

That's kind of an important tidbit of information there. You fried it. End of story.

Still under warranty? Got extended warranty? If not then why not take it apart? See if you see any problem with it. I had my remote control car hit with a jet stream of water once from a garden hose and I thought it was fried, It ended up being the battery contacts were loose/dirty from all the water.

yeah it not under warrranty anymore. But when you say the battery stuff is dirty. You mean the battery that goes n the psp or do you mean battery parts inside the psp?

The battery contacts inside the PSP. Does it turn on without a battery and only the AC Adapter? Does it charge the battery?

If it charges it makes me think that it is a problem with the power switch. Try to open it up and replace the switch from your brothers or something. If that works then you can buy another switch online.

That seems a little extreme, doesn't it? Just send it to Sony, they'll give you another one (refurbished) for $90.

Yeah, but eBay sellers are generally used, so I'd go with official refurbished, just so theres no scratches...but maybe that's just my OCD.

I'm talking about selling your broken PSP on Ebay. If not and you just get a new one, I know gamestop gives some $ for a broken one. 10-20 i believe.

Hmmm...intriguing....
No, they shouldn't do anything. All custom firmware does is void the warranty. Since it is already void, as long as you haven't pirated anything, or show them your pirated stuff, they can't hurt you.

Idk, I don't think they'd care. I bet they just toss the broken ones or strip it for something like the screen only.
Why don't you take it apart and attempt to switch the power board. Another option if your brothers PSP is hacked, create a Pandora and see if it turns on automatically. If not then you know its the motherboard for sure. You could then replace just that part for $30 or so.

Look at getting a new one. If the battery works on your brothers PSP but not yours we know know that it is a problem with your motherboard. Not fixable. You'll need a new motherboard.
The battery DOES work on another PSP right?
I was wrong about the prices of PSP motherboards. Unless you can get a PSP 2nd hand from someone in your work/school it'll probably be around 90 either way.
Cheapest motherboard I found:
