D2C modded pal wii, ntsc games demand system update

I have recently had a d2ckey installed into my PAL wii by a profesional. I have set the chip to be region free. Not so long ago a purchased SSBB NTSC from the internet. Now everytime i insert it into my wii and go to the game channel it pops up asking me to perform a system update, my wii is currently the latest firmware which is 3.3e. I know that doing an NTSC update on a PAL wii may brick my wii so i havnt done it yet. My wii runs PAL backups perfectly fine but everytime i insert a NTSC game of any kind (i have tested Mario Kart Wii, Super Paper Mario and SSBB) the game wii always DEMAND an update!!

What have i done wrong, it seems that the wii recognises the disc so far, should i do the NTSC update onto my PAL wii and see what happens? I have heard that if you have the latest firmware it will only partially brick your wii simply not letting you into the settings menu...and apparently this is easily fixable simply with a game from your region with a new update on it.

Please someone help me!!!

Updating out of your own region will cause you grief. If you hadn't updated to 3.3 you could have removed the updates from the discs, but 3.3 stops this from working.

I only ever play games from my region, I don't see any need to play other regions because most games are available in all regions anyway.

I ended up doing the updates on the brawl disc and nothing happened. . . it just went through and now everything works!!! it seems that everything will be fine as long as you have a higher firmware!
