<9>I have a Power calibration error?
Options you can try with "power calibration errors"
o Try another brand of DVD-/+R or DVD-/+RW media. This is the most common cause of OPC errors.
o "Slow down your burning speed".
o Update the firmware of your recorder. Check the manufacturer's website for the latest version.
o Check your power connectors, loose connections do occur. Don't share power with other devices. It needs its own power connector. If the errors occurs with an external recorder, Check the USB cable and connections.
o Try different configurations, such as taking the DVD-ROM to the primary IDE bus as slave and have only the recorder connected to the secondary IDE bus as master.
o Clean or have your DVD burner serviced. There are cleaning kits available. Sometimes just a gentle appplication of canned air can remove dust blocking the laser.
o Replace the DVD burner.
lets hope we don't need to do the last one :-)

didn't I just give you this advice in another thread of yours? Most of the time it's a media problem.... use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim will stop most of these problems from happening!

There is a small area on every DVD+/-R disc reserved for power calibration testing. The idea was that drives would write some data at seven different power calibration levels and check which level produced the best burn spot in terms of signal to noise level and definition. Then the drive would use that power level throughout the disc. There is only a finite amount of room for calibration testing, but almost no one runs out of the room unless he or she has used multiple multi-session recordings--a practice not recommended for the best recordings because it's better to keep the laser at the same output in a disc-at-once recording.

If there is a flaw in the disc in the power calibration area, you can also get the same message of having run out of room.

so make sure you use good media that is most recognizable by most DVD players/burners and those that have better quality, too! Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim! as stated above!
