after some reading today it looks like a couple of things we have been suspecting are going to be true.
a japan company yhas reportedly started makeing a blue 360 xbox, meaning intergrated blue-ray drives in the next gen 360's.
very nice.
it is also noted that they are working on sending the new 65nm gpus to the production lines very soon so, we will be seeing that to go along with its brother cpu.
ok.
however it is also noted that they are working on 45nm cpu's and gpu's which could mean only one thing. a slim line 360 like the slim line ps2. i agree with what i read though. sure a mobile 360 would be great. but i want dependability first.
and last but not least.
i have still not seen anything confirming a price drop, so i wouldnt get yourself too worked up yet.
but it looks like we were right on track with them bringing out a 2nd gen 360. and i would say it would be safe to assume this will be presented at the E3 show, which i believe is right around the corner.

Yeah Slim drive would be best. I don't really see appeal in slim 360. 360 case is already very pretty. The thing with PS2 is that it was ugly before, so they had to slim it.
i still have my v7 ps2. original laser, and doesn't DRE. to furter increase the laser life, i added a 300gig hdd to it. i'd take the fat over the slim.
i think any slim consoles are more prone to failure than the original.
I've actually read about ATI developing the 45nm dies back before the 65nm were even released, but nothing about them ever being used in the 360. Since then, widespread reports are saying that after the 65nm cpu/gpu Jasper hits this fall, the next revision will be the Valhalla, which will contain the cpu and gpu on the same die.
I've never read about a Blue 360. I've the rumor of Lite On making the Blu Ray drive and the one about Toshiba making one, but nothing about a Blue 360.
I'd be willing to bet my lower hanging nut that MS has a few prototype 360s with Blu Ray drives. I could see a new type of Elite with the BR drive for movies, but you'll never see games on BR. Not for the 360. MS would change their policy regarding game installation on the hdd before they used BR.
i saw the price drop today. and yes i agree just give us slim line drives. i dont know why every company thinks i want to carry my console in my pocket. its powerful so it can be bigger than a wii i dont care.
