I'm off to America tomorrow. Currently I'm in Ireland(PAL) and just wondering if the games I buy in America will work on my 360. I didn't think they would but after seeing this, I'm not so sure.
I don't think you will be able to with all NTSC games,but if your system is PAL then some NTSC games probably won't work.Your right though I think it has to be a specific region for it to work.I think there are some games that are region free that might work,but then again it would be wise to check to see if the game supports PAL before buying it.You can check out this one site called play-asia.com and they list what region the games can be played on.

so basically a select few games will work, but the majority of ntsc games wont work on pal?
Also, depending on where in the States you are coming (NYC for example), you can find shops which sell imports. So it is possible to pick up PAL games here in the US, and while they're usually more expensive than the NTSC, it may still be cheaper than you buying them at home.
