SSBB PAL Wiikey help?

Terribly sorry if this has been covered before but i've been trawling online for ages and i'm rather new to this.

Anyway, i've a downloaded PAL version of SSBB i burned it using IMGburn using 2084960 as the layerbreak. I tried updating the Wiikey to 1.9S but it tells me it failed and to check connection. Now i have a suspicion that that could well be because it's already updated to that point. I'm just utterly stuck on what to do could it be because i recently updated my Wii to the 3.3E operating system or have i just overlooked the problem/solution that's clearly posted here or somewhere else.

if this has been covered somewhere then please link me to it any help at all would be massivly appreciated.

Forgot to mention i burned using the recommended verbatim DVD+ Dual Layer and the console itself is PAL
