I put in a Xeno chip (in my 77001 GH-051-12) which I found out to be an Infinity clone. Actually I did it a long time ago and had plenty of problems then and unhooked it, but recently I made a second attempt and now it's worse than ever.

After I installed it the thing wouldn't even turn on (there was a red light, that was it). I spent a while checking for shorts and removing the wires and cleaning some places up etc. After that was done it would turn on, the fan would go, but the disc wouldn't spin and there was no A/V. Also, when I try to turn it off by holding the button in it doesn't turn off I usually have to try it two or three times.

And this is where I am now. I checked as many fuses as I could find, but everything checked out. I also took some extra time on the BIOS to make sure that was all good. I'm all out of ideas. Did I kill it?

one things is for sure...it really dont work...
u migh need a better chip, or u can ask experts about that mod and see if u really done it wrong, or if its really not working anymore...

dont attempt too much s for u might kill the PS2 itself...

Remove the chip and see if it works. Some Copied chips can cause headaches.

You must have missed in the original post where I said I removed all the wires. The chip is still glued to the motherboard, but since glue isn't a conductor it couldn't be the problem. At this point though I've considered it a lost cause and I'm working on getting my hands on a slim ps2 of the same or earlier version with disc read problems since they're way cheaper.
