NEED HELP WITH PIONEER DVR-104 Problems

Using Windows 98se. Have a DVR-104 which shows up in Device Manager as working properly. It is installed in an external firewire case. I also have a CDR burner and a DVD reader. They are internal.
If I use STOMP I can see that a DVD disk is in the drive and all its test say its okay. I have had success playing a commercial DVD from it but only by selecting individual files. When I try to play the disk it doesn't work. When using DVDit, once the project gets to the point it should write it returns an error saying that the DVD is only 650 megs instead of the 4.7 gigs so it aborts. Windows Explorer doesn't report the proper size either. The folks I bought it from say I need to install windows 2000, and Pioneer says to contact Dell for new motherboard drivers. Does anyone have an idea how to troubleshoot this? THe drive has been tested and is okay and successfully worked with another system.

The folks are correct, get yourslef an opearting system that has NTSF ie any version on Windows NT including Windows 2000 or even XP. Its time to move on from Win98!!!!!!!!!!!
