is there any way i can up the contrast and brightness of my movies saved on my hardrive?

some of my movies are to dark to watch. is there any program i could use to try and fix this

You can use the video edit tools for those video file. like roxio videowave or adobe Premiere.

You can also change the Brightness/Contrast/Color/Gamma/etc. in your video driver. Most software players use 'Overlay' mode and modern video drivers have controls that affect 'Overlay' (without changing the appearance of other modes).

???? As I said, it's probably not the movie, it's the settings of your video card. But if you really want to re-encode the vids and lower their quality there are plenty of free options. If they're .AVI VirtualDub is about the easiest and best. You can also use AVISynth, but you'd need to study up a bit to use that. You can also add filters using AVI Demux

oh n i dout its the video card.
it plays other movies fine. just a couple are to dark, n the couple play back dark on a dvdplayer aswell
