Hi,
I bought my girlfriend a Wii (PAL D2C)last month, and modded it yesterday with a Wasabi V2, I have burnt 4 ISOs but only 1 of them works straight off, the working one is 3d Pinball. All her original discs still work. The non working ISOs are Topspin3, Big Beach Party and We Love Golf. All the ISOs are PAL versions (supposedly). I have verified the non working ones against the images using Imgburn, they check out OK. When I put them in the Wii nothing shows in the disc channel, if I click in the disc channel it says I need to do an update. The Wii is not connected to the internet. Will the discs contain an update? Should I do it bearing in mind the modchip contained within, the warning about unauthorised hardware modification has me scared but I'm assuming it's a std message? Wouldn't the Wii being so new already have the update? The newest originals she has are GH3, Super Mario Galxy, and Zelda, none of these asked to do an update....
I've heard Mario Kart has 3.2 update on it which I can borrow from a friend... I'd prefer to do the update from an original rather than a dled ISO.
Does this sound right? What should I do?
Sorry about all the questions... as you can gather I'm pretty new to consoles!
It sounds like all your disks contain updates. Its fine though to update from a backup copy so long as you're sure the iso is from the same region as your console. I believe if you open the original isos with brickblocker it will tell you what region the game is.
If you aren't sure though then update from an original copy of mario kart, since you're right and it contains firmware 3.2
(and dont worry one bit about the unauthorized hardware modification warning message, thats just there to scare people)
