Hi, i've got a bit of a strange one, I have mentioned this before but just thought some might know why.

I've had some hi-def mkv video files which were opened with the VLC player and were very sharp but they stuttered or sometimes jumped with varying degree's from watchable to unwatchable, these stutters were carried over to dvd when converted with ConvertXtoDVD.

I then switched them to open with Media Player Classic and the stuttering stopped, even when converted to dvd with ConvertXtoDVD, now here's my real quandary, when switched to open with mpc i lose all of the sharpness of the original video file and this is also carried over to the converted dvd.

Is there a reason for this, apart from the mpc player not being as good as VLC at handling mkv files and why does it carry over to the converted dvd, is there some settings in mpc that will sharpen the files up to the standard of the VLC player with out the play back issues, or can i configure the VLC player to stop it stuttering, thanks for your help.

Any other recommended players would be appreciated.
