k guys i knw this sounds really stupid and all, but im just curious and want to get over with this for once and for all!!
first of all my wiifirmware version is 3.2U
and lets say i want to play a real copy of Resident evil umbrella chronicles(nov.-13-07), will the game re-upgrade my wii firmware or does V-3.2(U/E)play most of the current games out there ?? because my wii is modded im really scared to upgrade it 2 3.3U and i also hear ppl having ALOT of trouble with that firmware.keeping that firmware talk aside, i really want to know this plz reply!!:P
I dont have umbrella chronicles but if it does contain an update it would probably contain 3.1 or 3.0 based on the release date. So how would an old game update the console to a firmware that was not yet released when the disk was made? Also, since resident evil has run just fine until now on firmware 3.2 so why would it suddenly require an update to 3.3 to play?
Ok, let me spell it out for you. If a game contains an update, and you attempt to run it on a wii with an earlier version than the one on the disk, it will update the console before playing. If you already have the firmware on the disk or a later version it will not require you to update to play the game. In addition, a game cannot update your wii with a firmware that didn't yet exist when the game was released. I kind of thought that last part should be obvious but apparently its not.
