I am booting up my ELF programs from m USB device with Swap magic 3, the CD version. Okay, so I have tried booting my PSX backups with BOTH PSXLAUNCHER and COGSWAP, and I cant get either of them to work.
With Cogswap, I get to the screen where you swap the uLauncher disc with your PSX backup. I swapped it, pressed X on my controller, the PSX backup disc spins, but nothing loads?! It continues to spin and stays on this screen forever??!!
With PSXLAUNCHER, I get to the black screen with the set of instructions. They say to insert original PSX, wait for it to stop spinning, then put in your PSX backup, then press X to play the game. I put my ORIGINAL PSX disc in the drive, and click X. But nothing happens - no spinning. I just get an error message which says 'Not an original PSX disc'...YES IT IS GODDAMN IT!!! Why does it say this?
If I can get any help on this that'd be great...Thanks in advance.
PS - I have a PS2 SLIM, and I got my instructions on doing these boots from these threads:
I think i may be having these problems because Im booting these apps from s Swap Magic PS2 CD, therefor it'd only work on PS2 CD backups. Is there any way to get it to work with PS1 backups? Please help me if you know of ANYTHING. Thanks
um...what does that mean? i've buggered with the sensors to get swap magic to work. (you know how there is them 3 sensors you have to block in order for swap magic to work? - well they are still in place, so yeah I have mucked around with the sensors.]
Well, the only thing I might suggest is launching the PSXLauncher from the memory card with the FreeMCBoot mod. Besides that I am out of ideas ..... I use Game Breaker to load my PS1 backups, just easier than what I have read about the other two options.
On a side note it shouldn't make a difference whether you are using the CD or DVD version of SwapMagic. You are still using uLaunchELF to launch the elfs.
