Connect to XBL through ICS

I am trying to connect to XBL through ICS with my laptop. The modem and wireless router are in another room in my house so i thought that i could connect by turing on ICS on my laptop and using its wireless signal to go on XBL but when i go to Network Connections and right click in Wireless Connection and go to properties and the advanced tab i dont see ICS all i see is configure firewall setting is there something i am not doing.

Right click your wireless internet on the laptop's network connections folder. When you right click the internet connection, and then click properties.

What you seek is under the "advanced" tab.

under the advanced tab you must check the box that says "allow other users to connect through this computer's internet connection"

It should work fine, I used this method often when I need to connect to XBL.

EDIT: if all you see is firewall options, make sure the wireless connection is not bridged with anything else.

it is not bridged with anything all that is under Network Connections is Wireless Connection

hmm, that's strange. Is windows firewall turned on or off from your control panel?

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but my windows firewall is turned off.
