I have a version 4 PS2 and I just ordered a flip top and I tried to put it on and i can't get it over on the back side. There is a plastic part sticking out on the back that covers the place where the version information is supposed to be. Did I get sent the wrong flip top? Can someone please help me?

Hi, I want to buy the following for my Japanese version 7 (maybe 8) PS2. I really just want to be able to play GTA: San Andreas with English language support, in Japan - Does anyone have any suggestions about this set up? I notice it says swap disc 3.2, not 3.3 - would this version be ok with San Andreas? Any help appreciated.

I think this happened because my PS2 got refurbished. I have 10 screws on the bottom of my PS2 which indicates it's a version 1-3. My model number indicates it's a version 4 PS2. I got the flip top but it's for version 4-11 PS2's. Should I just send it back and order another one? Any help is appreciated.

superstui,
what kind of question is that?
your supposed to help people here.
Not go and ask them why they have something that is incompatible in the US.
You are supposed to help them make that incompatible thing compatible.
Fred,
A flip top should work in order to play the import games, but make sure that you have a TV which supports the NTSC-J format

Hey do the White doors come standard on the Fliptops or only sometimes. I just got one from consolepoint.com and they came with white doors.
Are they standard on all models...or only on some?

@gamer4lif
I got my fliptop and SMD from clearxbobx.com/customps2.com and the total with shipping was $43.25. My items shipped two days later. It had memory doors just not white, I ordered about a week ago. Just the fliptop is $18.00.

Hey everyone. I checked my PS2 and found out it is a V1...
Is it worth getting a fliptop for it? ie. Will it run back ups of the newest games & such.
Or should I upgrade to a newer version PS2.
Thanks a lot.

@L84skewl
my ps2 is really weird. It has a serial that starts with u4(meaning it's v4) but it has ten screws on the bottom. It completely stopped working about two months ago and I took the cd tray cover off and cleaned and rotated the laser. Now it plays everything new & old. It even plays DVD-R's that it never played when I first got it. I ordered a fliptop for it and I definately think it is worth it. As long as your PS2 reads DVD based games.

Hey everyone, I looked at six different companies that sell the fliptops for the PS2 and found that customps2.com had the cheapest price but when I emailed them asking for prices on there shipping all I got was an automated reply that said they would get back to me about my question and six days later still have not gotten any response. All other places were about the same at $39.99, but I don't know there shipping prices can anyone recommend a good place?
