I have a slide card, and a fat PS2. I'm just wondering if it's possible to burn your own boot disk that will launch an installer for a softmod, or is it only possible via the gamesave exploit? Because I don't want to spend 30 dollars on action replay or swap magic.

And I know it is possible to burn a disk that the PS2 will read; simply because sony doesn't use a different burner than most people do, seeing as <b>everyone's DVD drive can read PS2 and PS1 games<b>.

wrong. factory discs are pressed, containing sectors that cannot be copied. those pressed sectors are what determines if the disc is original or copied. the only way to bypass the check is with a modchip.

only way to get the memory card exploit onto the memory card is with action replay MAX or gameshark2. there's no other way to transfer any game saves to the memory card.

i'll just assume u don't want to install a modchip
second best commercial alternative memor32
or its free replica mcboot ,which can be found over at sksapps
google is your friend in installing mcboot ,as i have no current experience
