Hi there fellas,
I have a 105 dvd writer and I really want it to copy at a faster rate than 1x. I have tried a 1.33 firmware update and that didn't work.
Currently using firmware 1.30 and windows 98 plus Ritek overprint and Arita 1-2x media. All suggestions would be greatly received.
Thanks

Did you use the RPC1 version of 1.33 or the official. The official is locked out for ripping, the RPC 1 will allow ripping at faster speeds. Check my wesbite and downloads in my signature for more information

I downloaded the 1.33 firmware from your site Oriphus. Which pioneer writer do you have and what operating system are you running it on?
I have heard a lot of users use 1.33 with no probs, mine gave me a burnout.
Does your 1.33 burn ritek yellow overprints or aritas at 2x and also does it burn 4x dvdrs at 4 speed. I really need to upgrade as waiting 1 hour to burn a DVD is really starting to piss me off.

Yah, in the U.K. (Norfolk actually).
But NO WAY would I pay Ebay price + postage, way too high.
My local supplier of kit (where I get 1-off Trade prices) can sell me a New 106 for £80 inclusive, and they are only 5 mins walk away - makes £70 + £10 postage from Ebay look a bit SICK!!
Sell it on Ebay, grab the money and be thankful.
Byeeee...

pieman to revert back to firmware 1.30 i just reflashed it with 1.30 frimware. It is risky though as if there is a power cut as your flash it you can kill the drive.

I usually look for firmware upgrade/downgrades here : http://forum.rpc1.com/
Can't answer specifics on Pioneer 105 as I have the 104 (f/w 1.40)
