I recently bought a plextor 708a, and was trying to make back up copies of my dvd's at home. I was able to rip the dvd to an ifo file and then burn the ifo file to the dvd+r media, and it plays fine that is until it gets 1/4 through the movie and then it doesnt play anymore. I have tried many diffrent softwares to rip and burn and after all the combonationd I tried I relized what the problem actually was. The movie I am trying to copy is 100 min. long and the burn messes up at about 25 min. so It must be where the vob. file is split. Cause it plits into 4 seperate files. So I tried ripping the files as one vob. file hoping it would fix the problem, but it did not work. The same thing happened. I believe this is a problem with the burner cause I have tried a couple of diffrent ways. And because other people have had no problem burning in this manner from what I have read in forums online. Ive tried dvd x copy, dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, copy to dvd,TMPGEncDVDAuthor, and it all has the same effect except that dvd x copy did not play at all in my home drive, please help

I have found out what the problem was and maybe this will help someone else.the ripping of the dvd was flawless, but when I was copieng the dvd to the medium, the default speed was max, wich was causing my burner to burn at 8x even though the medium was 4x. I dont know why this was a problem but I could not change the record speed from max to 4x on any software I used. Tempenc or copytodvd. so it was causin errors in between VOB. files. but after using clone dvd I set the speed at 4x and it works fine. clone dvd is cheap, and I am sure someone will find a crack lol, good luck fellow burners
