Recent mod not playing backups, but orginals work fine.

Hi,
I recently completed my mod on my PS2 V7 using a Mars Pro 816 HD chip. Everything seemed to look fine, booted ok and even ran a copied PAL DVD straight off the bat.

I tried my original copy of GT4 which worked perfect and then I then tried a backup PS2 game with no success, instead showing the red screen.

Last but not least, i tried a DVD backup from another region (dvd9) which showed up, but the colours were all gray and the picture was fuzzy. On a few other DVD9's, i got a fuzzy message saying Unable to read disc.

Any ideas where I could have gone wrong with my install? Which points should i take another look at?
