Sorry in advance if this is a stupid set of questions I just dont want to mess up a good thing and want to make things clear.....

Now I read the faqs and saw that the most reccomended custom firmware is CFW 3.52 M33.

Right now I'm on 2.0 and I'm kinda scared to update to a custom because I know things are working now and don't really want to mess with it... But I really want to play psp games.

Now my question is if I download this and put this in will I be able to play homebrew and newer psp games??

Also will I have to downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 before I can update to this custom firmware?

Like I said sorry in advance if this has already been posted or if this is a stupid question..

thanks

that must be an old faq
lol

the latest version is 4.01m33-2

ill edit when i find a guide to upgrade your psp

EDIT: ok since your on 2.0 your going to downgrade to 1.50

using this guide
http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=18207
make sure you follow it exactly

ok so now your on 1.50 time to upgrade

you going to use this
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610312
and it will install custom firmware 3.71m33-2

then your going to update it directly to 3.90m33-2

then network update to 4.01m33-2
then go to the game folder and install the 1.50 addon

i edited the post

after getting on 1.50 your going to update to 4.01m33-2
so you can play all the latest games and run hombrew and play ps1 games all from your memory card

its the latest custom firmware

by downgrading to 1.50 it saves you money from having to buy a pandora battery wich run from 10.50-40.00$

im guessing you have a fat because its 2.0 o_o if its a slim dont do what i said lol

i was reading about this update it seems kinda of scary be carefull when doing it will look like you bricked your psp at parts when your downgrading but overall its a sucesesfull downgrader

all I see when updating is the options to either update to 3.90 m33-3 or to go to 4.01 m33-2

now should I do 3.90 m33-3 and then 4.01 m33-2.... or should I just skip 3.90 m33-3 and just do 4.01 m33-2?

EDIT:
nvm got it to work.

thanks so much for helping me out :D

now i just need to figure out how to run homebrew.... i wonder if i just put it in the game folder...

hate to bring this back up.... but for ps1 games can I just drop it in the game folder or do I have to create a new folder? or will I have to D/L an emulator some where?

I've seen people creating iso folders dont know if I'm supposed to do something like that and it will run or if I need an emulator.

thanks in advance

for psp one games when you dll them they should be in a folder and the game is called eboot.pbp

all you do is place the folder in game like this

ms0 bieng the root of the memory stick

ms0>PSP>Game>(name of game>Eboot.PBP

im going to rewrite the same thing but use digimon as an example

ms0>PSP>Game>Digimon World>Eboot.PBP

and thats all you need to do
Digimon world is just a folder the eboot.pbp is the game

and thats all yo need to do
