Converting DVD files to work on N-Gage

Hi everybody
I am trying to convert some of my DVD collection to work on my N-Gage. The only problem is, with the programs I have downloaded to convert the files onto the N-Gage (Helix Producer Plus 9 and Nokia Media Convertor) the original file fomat required is not what format the DVD files are in.
Please can somebody help. I do not want to have to buy ready converted files.

get a program called auto gordoian knot. It will convert the dvd into an .AVI file then convert it with the nokia converter.
