Hi, I've had my psp for less than a week so I'm very new to this. Chances are it's a really basic fix but I can not get cso or dax files to play. ISO files play fine, done a couple of dumps. I've tried both devhook and dax ziso loader and neither will work, they go to the psp loading screen then come up with a red screen saying that the game could not be loaded.
any suggestions would be great :D

.dax files are not supported

you don't need devhook or dax ziso loader (as they will not run games newer than about 3.11 firmware) and you should use the built in loader in the firmware anyway

put .cso or .iso in ISO folder in root of meme stick and load from the menu (XMB)

3.60>4.01 M33-2

ok, biff the dax loader then. I have a cso file made from a working iso file in the iso directory but it's saying there's no game on the stick. I created the iso from umd with umdgen and then used iso shrinker to create the cso file

maybe I've got a bad cso, using iso shrinker it went from about 1.5gb to about 140mb...that's a huge difference and just checking out sizes of other cso files of this game it seems a bit too small

sometimes games do compress a lot, often huge dummy files are included to improve access to the UMD

i recommend using UMDGen for compressing also, and make sure the name of the .cso is not too long and has no strange characters in it

OK, bad cso. Just tried with another game which only took about 250meg off the size and the cso worked fine. Thanks for your help :)
