So i Used my 1 gig Sandisk to make a pandora battery. Now my memstick is unusable. The PSP won't read it, I can't format it using windows and I've tried a couple of data recovery programs but they only...recover DATA (crayzy I know).

What i need is a program or a way to write the FAT or whatever fileing system it had that i aperently wiped. Windows says it's RAW. Also windows says the size of the disk is 0mb. I've try'd using my PSP to format but it says no stick entered.

So forum folk am I out a memstick?

try the following steps:

insert your memory stick into whatever youre using as a card reader.

next, in windows, right click on my computer and click manage.

underneath the storage icon, click "disk management"

now find your memory stick in the disk management window and right click on it and either select format or create partition, whichever works.

I tried that but what give me that option. all it says is the removable disk on line. I have the ability to change the drive letter but when i go to properties for that disk it says 0mb for capacity, allocated and unallocated space. the partition style is MBR. I even went so far as to try to do it via command line but I got size errors. There has to be a third party program that can write to this disk because what I think happened is the disk bios or whatever software makes it run got deleted. i have another 1 gig. is there a way to copy its software and write it to the damaged one?

sorry for soe reason it wouldn't let me edit my previouse post, or i don't know how. but what i meant in the first sentence above was that XP wouldn't give me that option to create a partition on the memory card. do you think using a different type of card reader might help?

Try using swissknife - http://www.compuapps.com/Download/swissknife/swissknife.htm

It worked wonders on my micro sd - and it's free and easy to use.

Can't say fairer than that!

Let me know how you get on.

Good Luck,

if windows reads it (even it it is all corrupted like 0 mb) then try right clicking the drive, pressing format and setting the "restore default....." to on and format.

(+[_]+) the best console!

if any one wants their PsP haxxord, and they live in the dunfermline area, PM me

psp doesn't read it, windows wont format it. what I did is an app that dose low level formating for memory cards. I'm really not worried because 1 gig cards are like 20 bucks now but I would like to figure this out in case I run into this problem with my very expensive 8 gig card.
