Subtitles in DVDMaestro

I followed the instructions in http://www.doom9.org/mpg/maestro.htm to create my own subtitles. I created first 25 subtitles to my movie just for testing. I imported .son file to DVDMaestro and burned the DVD. All subtitles appear at the right place but they are BLACK! During the subtitles creation I specified WHITE color in MaestroSBT. When I view the bitmaps in MS Paint, the color is something between orange and red, no matter what Text color I specify in MaestroSBT. Any ideas what went wrong?
