UMD not being read

Hi. When I insert a UMD disc into the PSP it won't read the disc. When I go to the Game icon there are only two available options: Game Sharing and Saved Data Utility. I have been through the PSP instruction manual and have cleaned the disc itself, there are no scratches on the disc or anything noticeable wrong with the PSP.

I hope someone can help.

Try cleaning the lens GENTLY with a soft cloth, and try another UMD.

Does the drive make any noises?

HI. I've cleaned the disc and there's no marks on it. The drive makes no noise when I insert the disc. Would it be the laser?

It could be a lot of things. Check inside to see if you can see a little white piece of plastic that has a bend in it. If not, then that's your problem.
