So I downloaded Quicktime Pro in order to convert video from my digital camera from its .MOV file type to other files types that Windows Movie Maker will support. I successfully exported the video through Quicktime Pro to "all file types" ... however, when I go to open it in Windows Movie Maker, it cannot find it.

So how to I convert it or get it to come up as a file that WMM will accept?

Hello: I don't know if you got an answer but here it goes. As far is I understand WMM will only allow you import files of the same category, which leaves you to the only option and is to convert your video to Windows Media.

To do that from quicktime pro, just open your clip, select EXPORT from FILE in the top menu, and a window will popup.

Bottom of the window you will find EXPORT with a drop down menu. Just select WINDOWS MEDIA which is the last option.

Hope this helps.

No, no one has helped me yet and this doesn't either because that is not a choice!

When I hit export I can save the file type as "all files" or I can export to:
3G
Apple TV
AVI
DV Stream
FLC
Hinted Movie
Image Sequence
iPhone
iPod
MPEG-4
Picture
Quick-Time Media Link
Quick-Time Movie
AIFF
AU
Wave

Those are my choices .... Help!!!!

Sorry to hear you got no help. I think the reason you don't have the option to save Windows Media is because you need to install a plugin called FLIP 4 MAC, it will let you open and convert windows media files.

That is why I can export WM. If you have mac, get that one, is free just to view WM videos on QT or buy it for $29 it will allow you export WM from QT.

If you have PC, try doing a google search on WM plugin for QT...

Hope you find a solution.
