gameshark issue

Ok, i put the gameshark in, select all of the codes i want for the game, then go to "Start Game" i put in swap magic DVD 3.6, i boot it then once it gets to the "Load Program" screen, i take the swap magic disc out and put in a regular non-backup disc, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. then i press "x" on "Load Program" it then goes to a black screen and that's it. The same thing happens if i just go straight to MGS2:S from the "Start Game" on the gameshark, just a blank black screen. I'd appreciate it if i could get help with this because i've looked all over google for a solution and i haven't found one yet.
