I'm having trouble getting my burned DVD's to play on a standalone player. The copied DVD will play on my laptop (where I copied it) but will not play on a stand alone player or even a PS3. I used DVD Shrink for the process and was wondering if any of yall had the same problems and know how to fix my situation. Please help, this is very frustrating.

Are you using the type of disk that the standalone normally plays (DVD-R or DVD+R).
Is the disk being burned at a moderate speed (4x) or half of the maximum stated on the package.
Are the disks a known, reliable brand (Verbatim).
What program is being used to burn the disk;Nero, DVD Decrypter or IMGBurn.

Are you using Nero 8 ? If so, there is your problem as Nero 8 has been very problemmatic. Nero 6,7 were more stable.

Nero Burning Rom in Nero 8 is working very well for me. I don't use it in conjunction with Shrink-because I rarely use shrink since auto link was severed. But I use it to burn my discs with NeroRecode and DVDFabPlat. No coasters.
What movie, what media, what burning programs and what are you using to get around DRMs-Fab or AnyDVD? If using AnyDVD, if it recognizes the burned DVD it should play in stand alone player if it plays the type of media used.

Dude, I'm surprised your thread hasn't been closed for using such a lame title as 'HELP PLEASE!!!'...All caps too! Shouts of ignorance. But to answer your question, DVD burners are a lot less picky than standalones. Things that help compatability include: Quality Media, proper burning speed (generally half the rated speed), updated burner firmware and several others. This board has a great search function and when you use it you'll find all this and more...
