I rip a movie and burn it to a disc. However this movie is not able to play in the DVD player but able to play in the PC. I have burned over 200 disc and this is the first time my DVD player are unable to play the disc. I tried over 2 different player and the problem still persisted.

Any advise , thanks

Regards
Steve

Please provide a little more information: Programs used, methods, etc. and possibly a burn log.

Try a different brand/type of media, even if the same media worked before.

I would suggest Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, and burn at 8x speed, or less. Some players are picky about home-brew movies.

Format is also important.

The -R format is normally heralded as being widely acceptable for most standalones.

If using the +R format...make sure to booktype to DVD-ROM for the best compatibility.

Good suggestion on the booktype, but I would guess that over half of the new burners don't booktype, and for the most part, it isn't needed with the newer set top players, when using +R media.

It could be the burner starting to show it's age as well. Are these the same brand/speed disks as usual? Lots of older dvd players are having major problems with some of the 16x disks. They seem unable to actually see the disks at all.
