I've just obtained an Xbox 360 Pro containing a Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L (rom v. 0079FK) DVD Player. After cruising the net I've come to realize that to play X360 backups (ie. Assassin's Creed) I will have to get a modchip installed into the player. As far as i can tell i will require NME v2.0 (the only modchip available for playing backups for my dvd player). I have a few questions for you to clairfy things:

1. Is the only way to play game backups is to install the NME v2.0 modchip into my Hitachi (rom 79FK) player? I am unaware of any other modchip for this player

2. Is NME 2.0 good for PAL and NTSC games?

3. Do any downloaded games require re-encoding of some sort? I keep hearing things about converting to NME format. Or can i play the games right away. Just burn with Nero on my PC then play the disc in the x360. Done.

Thanks for clarifying things.
