hi my sons psp broke a few months ago, first of all the psp wouldnt reconise any umds, so i took it to pieces to see if there was any think wrong that i could see, well obviosley i dont have a clue and as i was trying to have a look around it i snapped the power button off so i just put it back together and left it for a couple of weeks,,n when i finaly felt brave to have another go of tryng to fix it i got it switched on by lifting the faceplate and sliding the broken power switch with a needle, i noticed the umd problem was fixed and it was now reconising games, so my son couldnt wait to play on it,so he put gta in and as the game started he noticed the man was running in the opposite direction to what he was pressing, and wouldnt stay still, so im wondering if its got any thing to do with the direction buttons, sorry for the long thread, but i am desperate to get this fixed as it is just left gathering more dust, i know probablys that this is my own fault by taking it to pieces in the 1st place, and not just leaving it ,as ive broke one thing after another with it, thankyou
hi the analog stick seems to be working as thats the only way i seem to have control over man on gta but hes just on a continous run all the time and soon as i let go of the analog he starts going crazy again, and the direction buttons arn,t registering at all, ill have another look to see if i can see any thing, thank you
hi i think i managed to get it sorted, i put in a new power board for the broken power switch which was quite simple to do, then i put all the psp housing back on , and i switched the psp on the game was still going crazy, but i noticed if i pressed and put pressure against the umd door the the man on gta would stop going crazy, so all i did was buy some more psp screws and made sure they were screwed in tightley and then the psp started working properly, i carn t believe it was the simplest thing i hadnt tried if i d of tried this in the first place then maybes i wouldnt have broke so many other things in the process,so thats my lesson learnt, apart from now my sons wanting new housing put on it, i think ill wait a while before i attempt that one though! thanks again.
