Wii Fit PAL Game/Board on NTSC Wii Console

I am new in the Nintendo wii scene.
I have a friend who is coming over from Dubai on Sunday. He has bought me Wii Console NTSC (Do not know if its J or U). It is modded (I do not know how). He has got 35 Games cd with it which play ok.
In the excitment of receiving it I have already ordered Wii FIT which is from a UK website (So it would be PAL)
Now after reading more about the Wii I came across sites and like this forum for the interesting reading. So now I have few questions
1. How would I find out what region is it NTCS-J or NTCS-U?
2. How would I know what Nintendo firmware it has?
3. How would I know what chip/mod it has?
4. How would I know what firmware version is the chip?
5. Will my Wii Fit PAL version play fine with NTSC-J/U?

try searching the forum, which would be a start.
1) see the setting menu
2) see the setting menu
3) open it up
4) just update to the newest regardless
5) depends

As i understand it, out of region hardware wii fit boards will not work. Its the same for guitar controllers and such like.

I got my Wii Fit Game & Balance Board PAL UK/EU Version today.
I did not try the PAL game which came with it but had already downloaded a NTSC version of the game and I can Confirm NTSC Wii Fit Game works with PAL Balance board on Wii 3.3U

I too have this issue. I have a WII USA console with a PAL WII FIT. I cannot get over this by using Datel Freeloader since I have upgraded the console firmware to v.3.3. The only solution is to get an NTSC WII fit code. Can you let me know where you downloaded your NTSC version from.

I have an unmod'ed UK PAL Wii and while in Japan brought a Wii Fit
The Wii Fit disk does'nt work with my Wii
Are you interested in selling your UK PAL Wii Fit disk?

Hello
I have a PAL wii and a NTSC version of wii fit. I have considered chipping my wii but have decided against it.
Anyone with a NTSC wii and a PAL wii fit want to trade disks? I spoke to the wii fit people and they tell me the actual balance board works for all regions.
If anyone is interested just reply and take it from there.

Hello from Brazil!
I have a Wii Ntsc-u with the chip Wiican (?), my brother boutgh a german wii-fit (PAL), when I try to play, the disc channel didn´t recognize the game.
- I´ve tried the Datel Freeloader - no lucky.
- I´ve tried the Gecko OS with Home brew Channel and still nothing.
So I downloaded (and seedind) the NTSC-U / Split RARs / Group: VORTEX.
- Just burn and test, no lucky.
- Aply the Brick Blocker v1.32R - the newer version - nothing.
- Also tried Datel Freeloader, Gecko OS withHomebrew Channel and still nothing.
I´m very frustrated, cause have the balance board and can´t use!
Anyone can help?
p.s. I didn´t test the we sky yet.

Some news...
Downloaded the scrubbed version , and doesn't work.
Dowloaded We ski scrubbed version a yahey! Finaly good news.
Fisrt receive the error #001, but Gecko OS resolve this problem.
Let's wait for some solution for WIIFIT

I also have the same problem. I have the Wii USA Console (NTSC-U) and I bought (by mistake) from Switzerland the Wii fit PAL version. Will anyone be interested to exchange the PAL game disc with an NTSC-U version? If interested, please send me an e-mail and we will arrange for the excahnge (address : edited by ddp).

I have a UK Wii console and a USA Wii fit disc game. Would anyone like to trade their Pal disc for the USA one? I think I have the idea that the USA Wii console is ok with the USA Wii fit game yes? The two don't mix though, is this the case? My console will not read the game disc! Please drop me a pm and we can arrange a swap. Otherwise am I correct in guessing that I'll need to buy an Ntsc to Pal convertor???
