Load nes Wad file through emulator screen goes black

I am having trouble running my nes wad files through the homebrew channel. When I use the emulator and select my game it says running or installing then the screen goes black. I'm sure these files are good because when I use wad manager to install the files they work. I just want to use the emulator in my homebrew to load them. any ideas

This is how my sd card looks

(\root)\apps and fceu folder

\apps\fceu\boot.elf, meta.xml, icon
\fceu\roms\smb.wad, and mario.wad

just figured it out. If your using the homebrewchannel there is no need to have a wad extension you can use the .nes extension

instead of

mario.WAD you can use mario.nes

I thought someone told me you couldn't use rom files and only wad files.

I said before that wad and nes files are very different. A nes file is just a rom and therefore needs to be run though an emulator. A wad file is a bundle containing the rom, an emulator, plus the channel for the game on the wii.
