Converting AC3 to WAV freezes Encode Files and Wave Editor apps

I have tried this with 2 versions of Nero but have the same issues.
Nero 7.0.1.2 and 7.11.10.0
Windows XP Pro SP2
WaveEditor ver. 3.0.0.4 and 3.10.1.0

Issue:
Adding *.ac3 files to either application freezes applications and am forced to kill them with task manager.

Encode Audio Files:
For the app Encode Files I access it via Nero SmartStart > Audio > Encode Audio Files. I add the ac3 files and the app locks.

Is this app launched by a Nero.exe switch of some sort? It does not appear to have its own *.exe file to launch without going through Nero SmartStart applet.

Wave Editor:
I launch this app through Start Menu > All programs > Nero 7 Ultra Edition > Audio > Nero Wave Editor (ver 3.0.0.4). Once I add files it freezes.

The only plug-in I?m using is ?Dolby AC3 v1.0.0.32? (nxMyAC3.dll) from http://www.bitburners.com/category/softw...audio-plugins/.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
