So, I see a lot of different methods for playing ps2 backups, and I was wondering, is there anyway of doing this without buying any extra equipment? I have...network adapter, hdd, and a mem card, and of course a ps2 :P Is there a way I can ftp files over, or use a flash drive, or use a uloader without buying anything else such as swap magic etc?

Unfortunately, you are missing one of the following 4 items:

1. a Friend with an exploited ps2
With this, your friend can use uLe's filebrowser to copy over the TITLE.db and BOOT.elf files you need

2. a retail HDAdvance disc
This is what I used. It allows ftp access through making an iso of execftps and putting it on the drive with Winhiip

3. A gameshark that allows USB access
Obviously, with this, you can transfer the exploit files over to the mem card from USB.

4. An Action Replay disc that allows USB access
^^

Choose one, any one. I know it sucks.. I borrowed the disc from a friend, and ftp'd the files to the mem card with FlashFXP :)

If you get one of the latter three items, I can give you some links to tuts.
