MTV calls 'Rock Band' lawsuit baseless

On Friday, Konami announced that it had begun a lawsuit against MTV, Viacom and Harmonix over alleged patent infringement have to do with the blockbuster game Rock Band.
Konami claims that Rock Band infringes on patents pertaining to "musical-rhythm matching game."
"Konami's actions are extremely surprising," an MTV spokesperson said.

I think squide37 got it right. Pretty sure the "B A" is only inputed once. Don't feel like confirming it though... NES is in storage along with games...
BTW, will the rock band stuff work with Frets on Fire?

Well the Contra code was "B A B A Start." Other Konami games (I remember a TMNT game for example) had variations of the code, including some that only had one set of "B A". :)
Edit: Interestingly, I just fired up an emulator and both versions work. Weird. *shrugs* Guess I've been cramming those 2 extra button mashes in all these years for nothing! :D
