ms28 512kb firmware

hi
i've just flashed my ms28 with 5.2c using the VCC method and dosflash 1.4 and it worked fine with a couple of backups and suddenly while playing the drive opened while the dvd was still spinning !! after that the drive went dead!! doesn't spin or eject or any thing, i tried re flashing again with dosflash and the VCC method but every time dosflash reports the flash size as 512kb !! and it won't accept flashing (file size is incorrect) as the original firmware i have is 256k

so i bought a VIA card (6421a) and kept trying with dosflash ( both the auto and the manual methods) with no results at all

i started testing with dosflash32 ( windows version) but every time i start the xbox my computer freezes till i shut down the xbox !!

what else can i try? i really need to get this fixed
